A little bit about Pratty's
Pratty’s Bar: Whether you are looking for a local bar to relax and have a few drinks with friends, or to meet the full spectrum of people that Cape Ann has to offer, Pratty’s is a hidden gem.
Pratty’s C.A.V., known as Cape Ann Veterans club in the late 1940’s, continues to be the quintessential ‘bar and pool hall’ on Cape Ann, especially Gloucester and Rockport. With, darts, Keno, Mass Lottery, and Golden Tee, Pratty’s C.A.V. bar offers good laughs, cold beer, and fun times with friends. Fisherman, veterans, artists, and generations of Gloucester locals have long called Pratty’s C.A.V bar their “Parker Street Palace.” Pratty’s has something for everyone. It is where college students play pool with tourists and softball teams celebrate their wins. Where whale watchers stop in for a cold beer after a cruise and where locals come after a sunny beach day or cool boat ride.
The Pratt family bought the Cape Ann Veterans club in 1986, and as a fitting tribute to the old neighborhood club, decided to keep C.A.V.’ as part of their name, keeping this seventy year-old Gloucester gem of a bar only slightly hidden off of Main Street. Pratty’s C.A.V. “Parker Street Palace” is open to all.
Don’t forget to buy the famous Pratty’s sweatshirt worn by Casey Afleck in “Manchester by the Sea” and keep an eye out for other local celebrities.
